Tomorrowland

The Reflection of Love.

An astonishing 600.000 people attended the world’s largest electronic dance music festival, Tomorrowland, in Belgium, where 700 artists performed at 14 different stages. The festival, which initially started as a one-day festival with an estimated 9.000 visitors, has since grown to a nine-day, three-weekends festival with hundreds of thousands of visitors. The temporary village Dreamville was set up to accommodate all these temporary visitors.
MTD was responsible for setting up the temporary water infrastructure at the Tomorrowland festival grounds and Dreamville camping. Taking in to account the temporary growth of a usual population of around 16.000 to a population of 600.000 during the festival period. Besides easy access to showers and toilets, Dreamville also ensured those staying had easy access to anything they might need, such as a hair salon, small supermarket, a fashion store and bars and restaurants. MTD made sure to deliver wherever water connections were needed.
MTD and Dreamville also worked together on realising the Dreamville sustainability goal through careful real-time monitoring of the water flow, pressure and temperature, helping reduce drinking water usage and reusing wastewater where possible.
