Rock in Rio

Rock in Rio is one of the largest music festivals in the world.

During the first edition, in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, 1.5 million people attended the ten show days. The 8th edition of the festival, which took place from September 27 until 29 and October 3 until 6, 2019, had headliners such as P!NK, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bon Jovi. For the 2019 edition, over 900,000 tickets and 35,000 VIP tickets were sold for these seven show dates.

MTD was selected as a supplier to provide products and services for this unforgettable event.

The festival is held on 400,000m2 with 4 large stages surrounded by ‘food areas’ such as a VIP / Gourmet plaza with various restaurants, a Games & Sponsor area, Rock Street Asia and the Rock District.

Cristiano Hespanha, Operations Manager MTD Brazil; “We connected 300 toilet containers with 2000 toilets, 50 restaurants and 30 public water fountains, with a water peak consumption of 300 m3/hour. With our team of 6 technicians, we installed 30 km of pipes, more than 100 U2s (pumps), 75 kitchen/bar pumps and 300 m3 of drinking water buffers. Rock in Rio 2019 will be the third edition in Rio de Janeiro for MTD as a supplier, in addition to the editions in Lisbon and Las Vegas.

Like P!NK said lets “Get the party started”.

MTD has since also supplied the temporary water infrastructure at the 2022 edition.
