Carefree maintenance for water company Farys

MTD installed a 2800 m3 drinking water buffering system, enabling Farys (Belgium) to do a scheduled maintenance on their system without losing pressure.

Water company Farys was forced to perform work on a transport pipe nearby Gent, Belgium. This was necessary to guarantee the long-term supply of water. However, this would temporarily interrupt the water supply in a large section of the delivery area.

MTD built an installation in two locations in the Gent region to supply the residents with drinking water while maintenance was done. We combined 28 buffer bags (100.000 m3 each) in two locations. An automatic filling plant filled the buffer bags before the planned activities started and during the maintenance, providing the residents with the proper pressure throughout. In total, 5600 m3 of drinking water was made available through this setup.

This successful collaboration ensured that the work could be carried out without Gent residents experiencing any nuisance.
